Oktoberfest Den Bosch 2022

Besides working hard, there is always time for a good laugh. That’s why we regularly plan fun outings with our team. This past weekend was no exception. On Friday, we dressed up in our Lederhosen and Dirndl dresses and headed to the Oktoberfest in Den Bosch.

We believe it’s important to have a lot of fun together as a team. So, last Friday after work, we went out in our Oktoberfest outfits to enjoy a delicious meal together. In true style, we savored tasty schnitzels. Then it was time for the real party, the Oktoberfest.

The festivities kicked off in a large party hangar at the Parade. As soon as we entered, the Tyrolean music set the mood and some of us quickly hit the dance floor.

We had an incredibly fun evening. We danced, sang, and above all, laughed a lot!

G-Nius maintains SNA certification

On Monday, October 3, the second SNA inspection of this year took place. This time, too, it was completed positively. We can therefore proudly announce that we have retained our SNA certificate after the inspection.

The SNA certificate is awarded by the ‘Stichting Normering Arbeid’ (SNA) to companies that are active in the employment sector and meet the requirements set by the SNA. To assess whether we meet all the requirements for the SNA quality mark, an inspection is carried out twice a year by an accredited inspection body. During this inspection, our company is checked for:

• The identification of the company;

• The declaration and payment of payroll taxes and turnover tax due (in the Netherlands);

• Compliance with the Minimum Wage and Minimum Holiday Allowance Act;

• Preventing risks of liability and fines arising from hiring, outsourcing or outsourcing work;

• Carrying out identity checks and verification of entitlement to perform work in the Netherlands.

In addition, the administration and storage of the required documents is checked.

We would like to be an honest and reliable IT consultancy company for our clients. We therefore see the retention of the quality mark as a requirement with which we can offer certainty for both clients and professionals.

If you have any questions about G-Nius or about our SNA certification after reading this message? Please feel free to contact us via info@g-nius.nl or (+31) 073 610 14 69

20 years of G-Nius: Historical Locations

Over the past 20 years, many things have changed, including the locations from which we have worked. This time, we look back at these special and historic locations in the center of ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

It all started over 20 years ago from an office at Gijs-Jan Deenen’s home. However, there was a need for an external location, and a new workplace was quickly found. Co-founder Walter van Dijk found a room in Gasthuisstraat in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

Gijs-Jan: “We started working there, just the two of us, sometimes with a third person. At one point, the ground floor became available. We considered it a big investment at the time. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to make any changes, no network cabling or other modifications. The heating sometimes worked, sometimes it didn’t, and it was freezing cold.

By chance, in 2006, Gijs-Jan discovered a building on Sint Josephstraat, the old rectory next to the Orangerie. The Orangerie is an event venue in the center of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. This was also the reason why the property had been on the market for a long time. No one wanted to live next to a party venue. However, this was not a problem for G-Nius as the parties took place outside office hours.

Gijs-Jan: “I immediately called the municipality to see if the permit could be changed from residential to residential and commercial. They quickly said ‘yes.’ So, we bought it and renovated it. We had about 8 workstations in this location, and we never had any issues with the parties and events. The only thing that sometimes startled us was the sound of emptying the glass containers.

Due to growth and the need for more space, Gijs-Jan began searching for a new office location. This search didn’t last long. After a major renovation, the building on Sint Jorisstraat became the new office in 2008. It is a beautiful historic building in the heart of ‘s-Hertogenbosch with plenty of light and space.

Gijs-Jan: “I really like it here, right in the city center, yet it’s a peaceful environment to work in. Of course, parking could be more convenient right in front of the door, for example, but then you have to go to an industrial estate. But there, you miss the atmosphere, seeing familiar faces, and strolling through the city.”

We are proud of our office, and we would be happy to show it to you. So, if you’re curious about our workplace, just come by, and we’ll be glad to give you a tour.

Back to Business drink

There is no better way to end the summer than with a cozy gathering and delicious snacks. That’s why we organized the Back to Business drinks on Thursday, September 22nd.

By now, we have all enjoyed a beautiful summer and we are fully recharged to get back to work. It was a great opportunity to invite old and new business partners for an enjoyable evening.

This time, we chose Côte Bar and Bistro in the Korte Putstraat as the venue. It’s a beautiful location with an intimate atmosphere in one of the most famous streets of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. We had a wonderful evening with well-prepared appetizers.

It was great to see each other in person again and get to know each other better, something we value greatly. It was also a nice opportunity to catch up and meet new people in an informal setting.

We had a great time, and we hope that all attendees felt the same way.

Welcome Mike van Strien

On September 1, 2022, our new colleague Mike van Strien started as Business Manager. Mike is an experienced Business Manager. His focus is on building solid and personal relationships with professionals and clients. We are pleased with our new colleague and are happy to let Mike introduce himself.

Mike van Strien, 35 years old and living in Berkel-Enschot with my wife Anouk and sons Raff (3) and Dex (2). Besides working I am involved with the local football club as an assistant coach of the first team and I am a real club man.

I like to spend the time that is left with friends or of course my family. A day out, a nice drink with friends, or just relaxing and watching a series on Netflix can all make me happy.

Employed at G-Nius since September 2022, but before that, I had many years of experience in the world of secondment.

My strength lies in being personal. Connecting on a personal level is necessary to build a strong relationship in which I can advise or support a client or professional in their company or career.

Through attention and genuine interest, I am able to find out what motivates and drives someone and I can embark on a journey with someone to get the most out of their career.

Are you curious about how Mike can help you as professionals or clients? Then contact him at mvanstrien@g-nius.nl or +31 6 29 45 08 12.

I follow an internship at G-Nius as a Junior Business Manager since the end of August. This internship is part of my business study. In addition to working as a Junior Business Manager, I am going to work as a Business Administrator on researching employer branding for G-Nius.
