G-Nius Team Event – Efteling

The fact that we are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year should not go unnoticed. That’s why we invited the G-Nius team, their partners, and children for a fun day at the Efteling.

It’s a special and festive year for G-Nius, and we want to celebrate it with our employees. We didn’t have to think long about a suitable location for this celebration. We chose the Efteling because it is a beautiful, unique, and inspiring venue suitable for all ages. The amusement park also has something to celebrate this year as it is its 70th anniversary. The park is decorated even more festively to mark the occasion.

We started the day together with coffee and a delicious piece of cake at the Panorama restaurant. This was a good moment to personally see and speak to everyone. It was also a great opportunity to meet the new faces within the team. Afterward, everyone was free to explore the park at their own pace.

At the end of the day, we gathered again at the restaurant. Here, we enjoyed a delightful dinner while having plenty of time to catch up. As a token of appreciation for their dedication, our employees received a small gift to take home.

We had a wonderful day. It was great to see everyone again and to meet the partners and children of our employees.

Would you like to be part of our close-knit and friendly team? Check out the opportunities at www.werkenbijg-nius.nl, and who knows, we might see you at our next outing.

20 years G-Nius: Our mission and vision

In our article “20 years of G-Nius: How and why it started” you can read how it all started 20 years ago. This month we want to introduce you to G-Nius better. We are happy to tell you about our mission and vision.

Why do we share our mission and vision? Because then we find these two elements to be the foundation of G-Nius. Our mission and vision show who we are, what we stand for and why we do what we do.

Our mission:

With our unique working method, based on the PRIDE principle (Professional, Respect, Integrity, Decisiveness and Expertise), we work on bringing together clients and professionals at the intersection of Business and IT. Personal guidance and the wishes and needs of clients and professionals are central to this.

Our vision:

We want to be a solid partner that takes a lot of care off your hands, thinks along and provides tailor-made solutions. To this end, we always strive to make the perfect match between clients and professionals. Only in this way can the joint ‘win-win’ objective be achieved, for both the client and the professional.

From our office we work with a team of dedicated Business Managers. Our mission and vision are reflected in our working method every day. We believe that personal contact is of great importance. By staying in regular contact, we know what is going on and we build a lasting relationship.

This pleasant way of working together has brought us where we are now. And we are very proud of that. We are therefore looking forward to the next 20 years!

20 Years of G-Nius: How and Why It Started

How did it all begin 20 years ago? To find the answer to this question, we sat down with founder Gijs-Jan Deenen. He eagerly starts sharing the story, full of passion, about how it all started.

Why did you start G-Nius?

“I worked for several IT companies, including a large international corporation. What I noticed within these companies was a lot of internal politics and power struggles. People weren’t focused on the business, the customers, or the employees. That disappointed me.

When you work for a corporate company, you’re more focused on planning your career than on what is important at that moment. I realized that it didn’t suit me. I want to make a difference in everything I do.

Another thing that stood out to me in these large companies was the role of management. The top-down management style is not something I enjoy. I don’t want hierarchy. The role of shareholders and banks, who have a lot of influence, are factors that I don’t find pleasant. Additionally, I missed a pragmatic approach and entrepreneurship.

I’ve always said that the IT staffing side can be much simpler and more enjoyable. I used the model of Eckart Wintzen as a basis for this. He worked according to the Cell Philosophy. The principle behind it is that a ‘group’ should not exceed 50 people, forming a cell. The person responsible for this group should know all the employees and customers, as well as their partners and children. And when the group becomes too large, the cell splits into two new groups.

What I find particularly important is the fun factor. Doing things you enjoy that benefit the customers and employees. Making sure everyone is happy, I always find that enjoyable.”

Who has inspired you?

“Toine Philippa taught me the IT staffing profession. He is a true salesman who is always active. He can motivate people and gives you responsibilities. His attitude is: go for it and reach out if you need help.

I’ve learned a lot from him: enthusiasm in your business, going for it, promising what you say and actually doing it, especially taking action and not waiting around. He is an inspiration for my way of working and how I approach many things at G-Nius.”

Did anyone help you in founding G-Nius?

“Walter van Dijk helped me with the founding process. Walter is the one who took care of all the ‘desk work’ for G-Nius. By that, I mean the establishment, organization, and all the things that needed to be figured out in the beginning. Such as registering with the Chamber of Commerce, dealing with the bank, and so on. He also came up with the first logo and created the first website.

Walter later founded G-Nius Russia and now has two locations there. He is a very loyal and professional colleague, and we still have regular contact.”

Has a lot changed?

“When we started, hybrid working didn’t exist; you were judged based on your presence. What I appreciate now is that people are responsible for their own tasks. That is fundamental to G-Nius. It doesn’t matter if you do it at the office or at home, that’s up to you. But make sure it’s completed on time and according to the agreements. I find that a very enjoyable and pleasant way of working.”

Over the past 20 years, G-Nius has been located in unique and historic places in the center of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. You can read more about this in one of our upcoming posts. Curious? Follow us on LinkedIn or keep an eye on the website.

G-Nius retains SNA certification

Once again, we have received a positive result after the regular SNA (Stichting Normering Arbeid) inspection. This means that G-Nius will remain an SNA-certified (NEN-4400-1) company for the next six months.

The SNA certification helps limit the risks of liability for both clients and temporary staffing agencies. For G-Nius, it is an important tool to demonstrate quality and reliability to our clients. If you would like to learn more about the SNA certification, our article explains what we are assessed on and the benefits of working with an SNA-certified company.

We are proud to maintain this certification, as it allows us to provide assurance to both clients and professionals.

Business day 2022

On Friday 26 November it was time for our annual G-Nius business day. The business day is a moment when we at G-Nius look back on the past year. Together we look at what went well, but also at what could be improved. We will include this in the plans for 2022 that we will also discuss during this day.

This year the business day took place at the meeting location of Meeters in Uden. A beautiful and well-maintained location. Here we took a seat in one of the meeting rooms where, at a distance of 1.5 meters from each other, we looked back on the objective that had been set for 2021. Looking back on the past year, we can happily conclude that G-Nius is still has a strong position.

In addition to looking back, we also presented our new plans and objectives for 2022. During these presentations, there is always a lot of room to give each other feedback. By discussing this openly with each other, new insights are created and new ideas are born.

To end the day we all had a bite to eat at Big Boys Grillmasters in Uden. In a unique and cozy location, we enjoyed delicious dishes from the barbecue.

The business day 2022 was again a success and we look back on a good 2021 with great collaborations. For us, it was also a year in which we all stayed healthy.

We are already looking forward to the new year. A year in which we can work together on new projects and support our clients and professionals again.
