What is secondment?
As a manager, you often have multiple options to add specialists to your team, and secondment is one of these possibilities. By employing this method of finding professionals, you quickly bring specific expertise in-house to achieve your goals. In this blog, you will learn what secondment is and the advantages it offers, both for clients and professionals.
How does secondment work?
Secondment refers to the temporary hiring of professionals from a third party. In many cases, this third party is a company specialized in one or more fields and operates as a secondment agency. This company, also known as the lending agency, becomes the employer of the professional.
The client, also known as the borrowing agency, is the organization where the professional carries out a temporary assignment. The duration of the assignment depends on the length of the project the professional is working on.
Throughout the project, the professional works under the client’s supervision while remaining employed by the secondment agency.
