Thursday, May 25th, was time for the annual G-Nius Binnendieze reception. An event where we invited our contacts for a boat tour along the Binnendieze in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, combined with an informal gathering.
On the sun-drenched terrace of Brasserie Bolwerk, we welcomed professionals, clients, and (new) colleagues for drinks and snacks. During this part of the evening, new connections were made, and we got to know each other better.
After this introduction, it was time to board one of the boats. The experienced skippers on board shared with us all about the Binnendieze and the history of the city.
For some, it wasn’t their first time cruising the Binnendieze. But fortunately, the skippers had new facts and insights to share.
After about an hour of sailing, we gathered again at Brasserie Bolwerk for a concluding reception.
We look back on a beautiful and successful evening. The Binnendieze reception is always important to us. This evening gives us the opportunity to personally see and talk to everyone again, and we value that greatly.
We would like to thank everyone for their presence, the meaningful conversations, and the enjoyable atmosphere.
In the second episode of G-Nius Talks, we have a conversation with Sam van der Steen. They discuss how a strong company culture can contribute to the success of a business.

We believe in the development of people. The right knowledge makes talents, teams, and organisations grow. That’s why we have decided to share as much knowledge as possible and start our own podcast. In various episodes, Michael will have conversations with specialists in the field of the labor market, personal development, leadership, branding, company culture and sales optimization.
Why a podcast?
With our podcast, we aim to contribute to the development of knowledge, create new insights, and share valuable information. By engaging in conversations with experts in our field, we hope to contribute to the (personal) development of everyone in our network.
Another goal is to gain more knowledge ourselves so that we can further tailor our service and offerings to the market. By engaging in dialogue with specialists, we broaden our knowledge and perspectives.
Guest speakers
Michael will have conversations with various guest speakers on predetermined topics. How the conversation unfolds is unknown. This allows for an authentic one-on-one conversation where each speaker gets the opportunity to share their vision.
Curious about the first episode? It is now available to listen to on Spotify. Our podcast is in Dutch.

This week Jasper Straatman joined our team. Jasper will strengthen our team until the summer as a junior sales and marketing associate.
As part of his studies, Jasper will join us to gain experience in the field of marketing and sales. In order to involve him as much as possible in all activities, he will work closely with our business managers and the marketing department.
To get to know Jasper a little better, we asked him to write a little piece about himself.
“My name is Jasper Straatman, I am 20 years old and live in Berkel-Enschot. At the moment I am studying at Avans Hogeschool in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Here I am studying marketing management.
Besides working and studying, I like to keep myself busy doing fun things with my family and friends. In addition, I am a very interested soccer fan. In my spare time I can amuse myself with this.
My professional interests are focused on sales, I really enjoy getting in touch with customers and making sure they are satisfied.”
Since September 2022, Mike van Strien has been part of our team. As a Business Manager, he is dedicated to building personal connections on a daily basis. This is necessary to establish strong relationships where he can advise or support clients and professionals in their business or career.
Mike has been a valuable team member for some time now. We asked him 10 questions to get to know him better.
1.Coffee or tea?
Tea.
2. Streaming service or TV?
Streaming. And what do you watch? Series, such as Suits. But if I want a good laugh, I watch The Office or Brooklyn 99.
3. Beach vacation or active vacation?
I’m more of a beach vacation person. And where do you like to go? With the kids, I find the Canary Islands very convenient. Nice resort, all-inclusive, preferably close to the beach, but a swimming pool is also fine. And as for an active vacation… well, my world has changed now, but my wife and I traveled through Indonesia for a month, which I also really enjoyed.
4. Morning person or night owl?
Both, I go to bed late and wake up early. If I sleep more than 6 hours, I’m yawning all day.
5. Cooking or dining out?
Dining out. Do you have a favorite cuisine? I like Rodeo (Tilburg), just good meat. And I also like Havanna in Tilburg, that’s our restaurant.
6. Exercising or lounging on the couch?
…pauses for a moment… I’m more of a couch lounger. I don’t want to be, but it’s just really nice.
7. Wine or beer?
Neither. I usually drink whisky and Bacardi. But I’ll have a glass of wine during a dinner.
8 .Cycling or walking?
Walking.
9. Dog or cat?
Dog.
10. Breakfast or dinner?
Dinner. What do you like to eat the most? On one hand, I enjoy going out for a nice dinner. But if they were to come up with some kind of shake tomorrow that you can drink and contains everything you need, I’d be fine with that too.

We would like to introduce you to Wojciech Sudol. Wojciech is an experienced WMS consultant/IT project manager. Since October 2022 he has been working for G-Nius from Poland. In this interview you can read how the collaboration with Wojciech came about and what he does as a WMS consultant.
What does your career look like?
In 2011 I went on holiday to the Netherlands to be with my wife. She had been already working there for a while. During my holiday I received an offer for a job in the Netherlands, which I immediately accepted. It was just a 2 week contract, but it made me to stay in the Netherlands for a longer time..
In the following years I worked for large organizations such as DHL, Panalpina (later DSV). I have visited many places for my work, within Europe but also in Asia and America. I have experienced a lot of growth within these organizations. At DHL I started as a Controller/Operator. After that I worked as a Tester, System Administrator and finally as a Business Analyst/Developer.
At DSV I fulfilled the position of Team Lead for two years. Now I work as a WMS consultant for G-Nius.
How did you get in touch with G-Nius?
In 2018 I was contacted by a former colleague, who had already worked for G-Nius as a Consultant. I knew him from my previous job at DHL. He advised me to contact G-Nius.
After an introductory meeting with Leo, things remained quiet for a few years. Leo has sent me a few messages in the meantime to maintain contact.
What has G-Nius achieved for you?
In 2022 I wanted to go back to Poland. Unfortunately, that was not possible at my employer. That was the reason to look for other options. Because I had been in contact with Leo for some time and experienced this as pleasant, G-Nius was the organization I immediately preferred.
G-Nius helped me find a suitable assignment in Poland. This makes them more of a partner than an employer to me.
What project are you currently working on at G-Nius?
At this moment I work for Pepco in the role of analyst/tester/trainer and eventually, this role will turn into a supporter role during post go-live periods.
I do help Pepco’s team understand the JDA system. The advantage is that, like the team, I speak Polish.
On the other end I work directly with consultants from Blue Yonder Company, the creators of the JDA system. By working and learning with this team I am lifting my knowledge of their system into a new level. This can later open new doors for me.
You live in Poland and work for G-Nius. How do you experience this?
Working remotely for G-Nius feels natural. I experience the contact with G-Nius as very pleasant. There is a lot of friendly and personal contact.
Thanks to corona I already had experience with remote/hybrid working. In addition, even before lockdowns, I have had several projects where remote working the norm is. Like for example a project in Hong Kong, for this I was in Hong Kong for 1 week and the rest of the time I worked remotely.
How does G-Nius differ from other organizations?
G-Nius is a small organization, so it cannot be compared with larger organizations. I really like the way in which a project was quickly found for me. I also really feel appreciated by all the time and attention that is given to me.

As of this week we have a new colleague; Chiara Wijdh. Chiara will join our team as Junior Business Manager.
As Junior Business Manager, Chiara will join our team for the next six months. In this role she will support our Business Managers. For this, she will help find professionals that match the issues of our clients. She is also working on an internship assignment which is part of her studies. To get to know her a little better, we asked Chiara to tell us a little bit about herself.
“I am Chiara Wijdh and 22 years old and a student of business administration at Avans Hogenschool ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Prior to this, I completed the mbo business administration course. I describe myself as eager to learn, hardworking and a go-getter. I make every effort to achieve a new challenge.
From the end of January 2023, I will be doing an internship at G-Nius as a Junior Business Manager for 20 weeks. This internship is part of my business administration studies. In addition to being a Junior Business Manager, I will be working on a research project about optimizing business processes.
I like to spend my free time with my friends and family. Furthermore, I love good food and a drink and therefore like to go out for dinner with friends.”
Would you like to know more about Chiara? Or about the possibilities of doing an internship at G-Nius as well? Then contact us on WhatsApp 0615334524 or visit www.werkenbijg-nius.nl.
In this interview, we would like to introduce you to David Lembeck, a G-Nius professional. David has been working with us for over 3 years as an IT professional. Along with his extensive knowledge and experience, David embodies our core values: Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Action, and Expertise. Discover how David joined us and how our paths crossed.
Can you tell us about your career journey?
I graduated as a pilot. However, in 2018, during the financial crisis, I couldn’t find a job in that field. Eventually, I decided to work in logistics. The setup and optimization of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) caught my attention, and I quickly realized that I was quite skilled in the IT aspect of the logistics sector.
After various IT-driven roles, I am now working as an IT project manager through G-Nius in the logistics industry.
How did you get in touch with G-Nius?
Through LinkedIn. Leo approached me and asked if I was interested in a consulting role through G-Nius.
I had my first conversation with Gijs Jan. It was an interesting conversation that focused more on classic cars than work, but that didn’t matter. It was a pleasant conversation, so I decided to talk to Leo as well.
Soon, the deal was sealed, and I had the opportunity to share my knowledge with G-Nius clients.
What has G-Nius achieved for you?
G-Nius actively helped me find assignments that suit me. At my current client (Ceva), as a WMS consultant, I can share a lot of the knowledge I have gained previously.
The duration of my stay at Ceva depends on the availability of work. If there is no suitable assignment for me at Ceva anymore, I know that having a permanent contract provides me with peace of mind. G-Nius will then help me find another suitable assignment.
Are you enjoying your current position?
I am really enjoying it. I can see that the responsibilities given to me by Ceva align with where I want my career to be.
How is your relationship with G-Nius?
In my day-to-day work, I am managed by the client. Therefore, there is no direct guidance from G-Nius in terms of content. However, we regularly speak about the progress of my project.
On a personal level, I have a very pleasant relationship with G-Nius. There is open communication, personal contact with me, and genuine interest in my well-being and the well-being of my family.
Do you feel like part of the G-Nius team?
G-Nius is characterized by having close relationships and a lot of personal contact. There is interaction among colleagues at social gatherings and outings. This is important because colleagues are often assigned to different clients, and our daily work is not at or for the G-Nius office. Despite that, G-Nius ensures that you feel like part of the team.
